This is a BRIGHT flashlight that you don't want to use inside the cockpit if you're airborne, its too bright for that. Use this for ground work such as a preflight during hours of darkness, or for signalling in distress. The 2 nicad batteries should last 5 years without use, ready for immediate deployment if needed. If you use it frequently, the batteries are available at most hardware or photo stores, even in the photo department of Wal Mart, for instance.
